interfacial, a.|ɪntəˈfeɪʃ(ɪ)əl| [f. inter- 4 a + L. faci-es face: cf. facial.] Included between two faces of a crystal or other solid, as in interfacial angle, the dihedral angle included between two faces.
1837J. D. Dana Min. 14 The interfacial angle..M:T is an oblique angle, while P:T = 90°. 1877E. S. Dana Text-bk. Min. 3 In the descriptions of crystals three kinds of angles may come under consideration, solid, plane, and interfacial.
Add:2. [f. interface n.] Existing or occurring at an interface. Chiefly in techn. use.
