The planned co-ordination for artistic effect of colours and furniture, etc., in a room or building. So interior ˈdecorator, one who practises interior decoration. Also interior-ˈdecorate v. trans., to paint and furnish (a room or the inside of a building) in accordance with an artistic design; interior-decorated ppl. adj.; interior decorating vbl. n. Also attrib. and fig. (see also quot. 1926).
