Walpolian, a. and n.|wɔːlˈpəʊlɪən| Also -ean. [f. the name of Robert Walpole (1676–1745), politician, and of his son Horace Walpole (1717–97), writer and politician + -ian.] A. adj. 1. Of, pertaining to, or characteristic of Horace Walpole or his writings. Also applied to neo-Gothic architecture of a type popularized by Horace Walpole.
