amphidisc Zool.|ˈæmfɪdɪsk| [f. Gr. ἀµϕί on both sides + δίσκος a round plate.] Peculiar asteroid spicules, resembling two toothed wheels united by an axle, which form a layer surrounding the gemmules of sponges. (Nicholson.)
