1. Pharm. A substance obtained from the rhizome of the blue flag, Iris versicolor, and formerly used as a hepatic stimulant.
1879Pharmaceutical Jrnl. & Trans. IX. 988/2 Iridin is obtained from the fresh rhizome of Iris versicolor.
