ˈwater-flood [OE. wæterflód: see water n. and flood n. Cf. MHG. waȥȥervluot (mod.G. wasserflut), MLG. watarvlôt, ON. vatnsflóð.] 1. A moving flood or overflowing of water, a tempestuous sea.
