isoniazid Pharm.|aɪsəʊˈnaɪəzɪd| [f. isoni(cotinic acid (s.v. iso- b) + hydrazide.] A white or colourless crystalline compound, C5H5N·CO·NH·NH2, which has bacteriostatic properties against mycobacteria and is used esp. in the treatment of tuberculosis.
