Jacob Evertsen S. Afr.|ˈjækəb ˈeɪvɜːtsən| Also Jacob Evertson, jacopever. [Name of a 17th-c. Dutch sea-captain.] Any of several marine food fishes distinguished by reddish skin and large eyes, esp. Sebastichthys capensis.
