Wei|weɪ| The name of a Chinese dynasty, esp. one of the partial dynasties ruling (in the north of China) from the mid-4th to the mid-6th cent. a.d. Also used attrib. and absol. to designate works of art, esp. sculpture and pottery, produced in the period.
