Jura Geol.

[Name of the range of mountains on the borders of France and Switzerland that gave its name to the Jurassic system; in this use prob. a. Ger. Jura, Jura- Jurassic (n. and adj.).]
Jurassic rocks or strata; the Jurassic system. Also attrib., = Jurassic a.
Jura-trias = Triassic; lower or black Jura = lias 2; middle or brown Jura = dogger3 2; upper or white Jura = malm n. 1 a.
