Karitane N.Z.|kærɪˈtɑːnɪ| [f. Karitane, a township in the South Island of New Zealand.] Used attrib., of or pertaining to the system of ante- and post-natal care for mothers and babies initiated by Sir F. Truby King (1858–1938).
