Kathakali|kɑːtəˈkɑːlɪ| Also Kadhakali. [Malayalam kathakali drama, f. katha story (Skr. kathā) + kali play.] A South Indian dance-drama based on Hindu literature, and characterized by its stylized costume and make-up, and frequent use of mime.
