Kevlar, n.|ˈkɛvlɑː(r)| Also kevlar. [Cf. Mylar n.] A proprietary name for a synthetic fibre of high stiffness and tensile strength, used mainly as a reinforcing agent in composite materials and as a constituent of ropes and cables; also, any of various materials made from or strengthened with this fibre.
