[ad. L. anastomōtic-us, a. Gr. ἀναστοµωτικ-ός pertaining to opening, f. ἀναστοµό-ειν: see prec. In sense 1 often written anastomatic, with reference to Gr. στοµατικός pertaining to the mouth.]
