klip, n. S. Afr.|klɪp| Also dim. klippie. [Afrikaans, a. Du. klip cliff, rock, stone.] 1. A diamond; † micaceous iron ore (quot. 1835). Also, blink klip [Afrikaans blink shining].

Hence klip v. trans., to place a stone behind (a wheel) in order to prevent a vehicle from rolling backwards.
