Krautrock, n. Brit. |ˈkraʊtrɒk|, U.S. |ˈkraʊtˌrɑk| [‹ kraut n. + rock n.3] Any of various experimental styles of popular music associated with German groups of the 1970s, generally characterized by an improvisatory, electronic, moody sound and either a nonexistent or weak rhythm or a prominent mechanical rhythm.
