1840R. Ruding Annals Coinage I. 283 In his [Edw. IV's] fifth year it was enacted [in the Irish parliament] that the noble of due weight should be of the value of ten shillings..and that for laccage of weight in such pieces of gold they should be refused. Ibid. 284 It was enacted, in his seventh year, that the laccage in weight should not be a cause for refusing the money, but that the value of such laccage should be paid in current silver. |
