lambada, n. (læmˈbɑːdə, ‖ lamˈbada) [a. Pg., lit. ‘beating, lashing’, f. lambar to beat, whip.] A fast, rhythmical, and erotic dance of Brazilian origin, danced by couples in close physical contact; also, the music to which it is danced. Occas. fig.
