lamsiekte S. Afr.|ˈlamˌsɪktə| Also lamziekte. [Afrikaans, f. lam lame, paralysed + siekte disease.] A cattle disease, usually fatal, found on land deficient in phosphorus, caused by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and characterized by paralysis or muscular weakness; bovine botulism. Also attrib.
