lanceolate, a. Chiefly in scientific use.|ˈlɑːnsiːələt, -æ-| [ad. L. lanceolātus, f. lanceola small lance; in med.L. lancet, dim. of lancea lance n.1] Resembling a spear-head in shape; narrow and tapering to each end.
