Lazarist|ˈlæzərɪst| [ad. F. lazariste, f. the proper name Lazare, Lazarus.] ‘The popular name for the ‘Congregation of the Priests of the Mission’ founded by St. Vincent of Paul in 1624, and established a few years later in the College of St. Lazare at Paris’ (Catholic Dict. 1885).
