Leber Ophthalm.|ˈleɪbə(r)| The name of Theodor Leber (1840–1917), German ophthalmologist, used in the possessive esp. in Leber's disease, hereditary optic atrophy, a rare hereditary disease in which partial blindness in both eyes sets in rapidly, typically affecting young men; also called Leber's (hereditary optic) atrophy.
