▪ I. lepidine, n. Chem.|ˈlɛpɪdaɪn| [f. mod.L. Lepidium, a botanical genus, ad. Gr. λεπίδιον, dim. of λεπίς scale; see -ine.] A volatile oily base obtained by distilling quinine, cinchonine, and other alkaloids.
