‖ xenodochium|zɛnəˈdɒkɪəm| Also -ion, -eum. Pl. -a. [Late L. xenodochīum, -ēum, ad. late Gr. ξενοδοχεῖον, f. ξένος stranger + δέχεσθαι to receive.] A house of reception for strangers and pilgrims; a hostel, guest-house, esp. in a monastery.
