Yang-shao Archæol.|jæŋ ʃaʊ| Also Yang Shao, Yang shao. The name of a village in the Henan province of China, used attrib. and absol. to designate a Neolithic Chinese culture (c 5000–3000 b.c.), and its artefacts, evidence of which was first discovered there in 1921.
