lichenification Med.|laɪˌkɛnɪ-, ˌlaɪkənɪfɪˈkeɪʃən| [ad. F. lichénification (L. Brocq 1892, in II. Internat. Dermatol. Congr. 522), f. F. lichen lichen n.: see -ification.] Hardening and thickening of the skin caused by scratching or other continued irritation; an area of skin so affected.
