likuta|lɪˈkuːta| Pl. makuta. [Native word; etym. uncertain; perh. f. Nupe kuta stone.] A coin and monetary unit introduced in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (now Zaïre) in June 1967, whose value is one hundredth of a zaïre.
