limnoria|lɪmˈnɔərɪə| [mod.L. (W. E. Leach 1815, in Trans. Linn. Soc. Lond. XI. 370), ad. Gr. λιµνορεια a water-nymph.] A marine isopod crustacean of the genus so called, which includes L. lignorum, a borer that attacks timber (= gribble2).
