▪ I. Yüeh1|ˈjyə| Also Yueh. [f. the name Yüeh Chou of a town (now called Shaoxing) in Zhejiang Province, China.] A type of stoneware distinguished by a celadon glaze, first produced in the Six Dynasties period and perfected during the Tang dynasty. Freq. attrib., esp. as Yüeh ware.
