Zetland|ˈzɛtlənd| Later spelling (see Z) of Sc. Ȝetland (also Yetland, latinized Yhetlandia), a. ON. Hja(l)tland, Hjetland (MDa. Hetland) Shetland. Hence ˈZetlander, Zetˈlandic a. (Survives in a title of the peerage; until recently an official name of the Shetland Islands.)
