‖ Zigeuner|tsɪˈgɔɪnə(r)| fem. -erin, pl. -erinnen. [Ger., cogn. with Zingano, Zingaro.] A gypsy. Ziˌgeunerbaˈron, a gypsy baron (in allusion to the operetta Der Zigeunerbaron (1885) by Johann Strauss).
