anorectic, a. and n. Med.|ænɒˈrɛktɪk| [f. Gr. ἀνόρεκτ-ος without appetite (f. ἀν- an- 10 + ὀρέγειν to desire) + -ic.] A. adj. 1. Characterized by a lack of appetite, spec. anorexia nervosa.
