A neut. n. is represented by OFris. iâmer, OHG. jâmar, also âmar, MHG. jâmer (G. jammer) sorrowful desire. (ME. yēmer may partly reflect OE. ᵹéamrung, ᵹémrung of Vesp. Psalter.)] Sorrowful, wretched; grievous, doleful.
