Ibid. 218 At the instance of Mr. C. D. Woodhouse, the writers propose the name mackayite for the species after John W. Mackay (1831–1902), a mining operator who in a few years amassed a great fortune on the Comstock Lode, Nevada. The name is intended to recognize Mackay's financial endowment of the School of Mines of the University of Nebraska. 1968I.
