Mannlicher|ˈmanlɪxər| [f. the name of Mannlicher (see below).] A firearm of a type invented by Ferdinand Ritter von Mannlicher (1848–1904), esp. a type of sporting rifle. Also attrib. The umlauted ä in the Kipling example is erroneous.
