Marathonian, a.|mærəˈθəʊnɪən| [f. L. Marathōni-us (f. Marathōn) + -an.] Of or pertaining to Marathon, or to the battle of Marathon (490 b.c.) in which Athens defeated the Persians. Also n., a native of Marathon.
