† marquisotte, v. Obs. Also 6 marquesotte, -ezate, marcussotte, marquisado, 7 merquizotte. [f. F. marquisotte (‘Barbe faitte à la marquisotte, cut after the Turkish fashion, all being shauen away but the mustachoes,’ Cotgr.).] trans. To cut (the beard) in the fashion described above. Also pass. of the person, to have the beard so cut.
