Maunder, n. Astron.|ˈmɔːndə(r)| [The name of E. Walter Maunder (1851–1928), English astronomer.] Maunder minimum, the period of extremely low sunspot activity between about 1645 and 1715, which coincided with the Little Ice Age in the northern hemisphere.
