anthophore Bot.|ˈænθəfɔə(r)| [mod. ad. (De Candolle) Gr. ἀνθοϕόρος, f. ἄνθο-ς flower + -ϕορος bearing.] The stalk which in some flowers raises the receptacle above the calyx.
