mechatronics, n. pl. (const. as sing.) Engin.|mɛkəˈtrɒnɪks| Also mecha-tronics. [f. mechanics n. + electronics n.] The branch of technology which combines mechanical engineering and electronics. Used chiefly with reference to Japan.
