mentonniere Antiq.|mɛnˈtɒnɪɛə(r)| [a. F. mentonnière (16th c. mentoniere), f. menton chin.] A piece of armour covering the chin or lower part of the face and neck, attached either to the helmet or to the upper part of the body-armour.
