Mech. 1220/2 Metaline is a material formed of metals, oxides of metals, and organic matter, reduced to powder, compounded with wax, gum, or fatty matters, and subjected to heavy pressure, so as to form solids of proper shape to form boxes and bearings for shafts or axles. 1883Fisheries Exhib. 2. A kind of thread for sewing leather, made of twisted strands of linen and brass, copper, or steel wire. (Cent. Dict. 1890.)
