metaschematism|mɛtəˈskiːmətɪz(ə)m| [ad. mod.L. metaschēmatismus, a. Gr. µετασχηµατισµός, vbl. n. of µετασχηµατίζειν to change the form of, f. µετα- meta- + σχηµατ-, σχῆµα form: see -ism.] 1. Path. ‘A change of the form of a disease, as when hæmoptysis follows suppression of the menses’ (Syd. Soc. Lex., s.v. Metaschematismus).
