A minute oscillation of atmospheric pressure with a period of the order of 5 seconds.
1939Benioff & Gutenberg in Bull. Amer. Meteorol. Soc. XX. 424/1 The waves..exhibit no relation to microseisms nor to the barometric conditions in this region. No hypothesis as to their origin has yet been suggested. We designate them microbaroms. 1953Jrnl. Acoustical Soc. Amer.
