microzyme Phys.|ˈmaɪkrəʊzaɪm| Also microzyma |maɪkrəʊˈzaɪmə|. [mod. f. Gr. µῑκρό-ς small + ζύµη yeast: cf. zymic.] A zymotic microbe; one of a class of minute and lowly organized living beings, to whose presence are attributed epidemic and other zymotic diseases.
