[OE. micgęrn = OS. midgarni OHG. mittigarni:—OTeut. type *midjogarnjom, f. *midjo- mid a. + *garnâ (ON. gǫrn fem.) bowel, gut, cogn. w. *garnom yarn.] The fat about the entrails of an animal; suet; in mod. dial. use the fat about the kidneys of a pig; leaf-lard.
