antimonious, a.|æntɪˈməʊnɪəs| [f. L. antimōni-um + -ous.] Of the nature of, or containing, antimony. In Chem. applied to compounds of antimony in which it combines as a triad; as antimonious chloride Sb Cl3; antimonious acid, formerly applied to antimony tetroxide, afterwards to antimonious oxide or antimony trioxide Sb2O3.
