monoglot, a. and n.|ˈmɒnəglɒt| [ad. Gr. µονόγλωττ-ος, f. µόνο-ς mono- + γλῶττα, γλῶσσα tongue, language.] A. adj. 1. Of a person: That speaks, writes, or understands only one language.
