1856Mayne Expos. Lex., Monostichous, applied by Haüy to a variety of the prism, the base of which is surrounded with facets which have different inclinations, as the Yenites monosticha: monostichous.
2. Bot. Arranged in a single vertical row, rank, or series, on one side of an axis, as the flowers in certain grasses. (Opposed to distichous.)
