† moroˈxylic, a. Chem. Obs. [f. Gr. µόρο-ν, µῶρο-ν mulberry + ξύλ-ον wood + -ic.] moroxylic acid: a supposed acid obtained from a salt of the white mulberry tree. (Cf. moric.) So † moˈroxylate, a salt of moroxylic acid.
